How to do it
- Choose a task
- Set the timer for 25 mins
- During this time don’t check the timer, just focus on the task on hand
- Take a 5 min break
- When you take a break, get up and do something (e.g. eat a snack, refill, stretch, dance, bathroom, etc.)
- After 4 sessions, take a long break (15-30 min)
- Again do something else away from study area
- Modify for your needs
- Example: No breaks, longer work time then break
Distractions
- Technology - silent mode, DND, notifications off
- Person
- Inform them that your doing something
- Negotiate a time when you can get back
- Call back
